Copyright Policy
Intellectual property rules, usage licenses, derivative content, AI assistance, and infringement reporting in Fiction Draft.
The Copyright Policy explains how Fiction Draft handles intellectual property, copyright, licensing, user content, and copyright-infringement notices.
It should be read together with the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and any complementary policies published by Fiction Draft.
By using Fiction Draft, you agree to these rules and acknowledge your responsibility for content you upload, create, edit, store, share, or publish.
1. General principles
Fiction Draft respects copyright and expects all users to comply in good faith.
Creative works, including novels and related texts, may be protected by copyright from creation, with rights and requirements varying by jurisdiction.
The platform does not substitute formal registration, legal advice, authorship proof, or any additional legal mechanism.
Fiction Draft does not guarantee that user content is original, lawful, properly licensed, plagiarism-free, fully attributable, or automatically valid for any copyright claim.
Users remain fully responsible for all content they upload, create, edit, store, share, or publish.
2. Ownership of user works
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Fiction Draft does not claim ownership of novels, chapters, drafts, synopses, characters, notes, worldbuilding, or other user-created content.
When users legitimately hold rights, ownership remains with the author or right holder.
To run the service, Fiction Draft receives operational licenses for hosting, storage, rendering, processing, organizing, internal distribution, moderation, backup preservation, and platform operations.
These operational licenses do not transfer ownership of the work to Fiction Draft.
3. User responsibility and licenses
By using Fiction Draft, you represent and warrant that you have all rights, permissions, and legal bases to create, store, import, edit, display, or publish the content you submit.
You are not allowed to publish or store material that infringes third-party rights, uses protected characters/plots without authorization, or is used to evade legal restrictions.
Fiction Draft does not perform prior legal verification and does not guarantee authenticity, chain of title, or rights compliance for every user submission.
4. Unauthorized content
Unauthorized content may be reported and can be reviewed and restricted, hidden, removed, blocked, or limited in visibility, and may lead to account suspension or termination.
The platform may preserve relevant records for investigation, evidence, legal defense, and lawful cooperation.
5. Copyright infringement reports
If you believe content may infringe a right you represent, you can submit a report with sufficient information for a reasonable assessment.
Reports should include the protected work, exact location, explanation of alleged violation, and evidence of legitimate authority.
Duplicate, abusive, generic, automated, or bad-faith reports may be rejected or deprioritized.
6. Counter-notice and review
If your content is removed or limited, you may submit a counterstatement where the policy allows it.
Counter-notices do not prevent Fiction Draft from retaining legal, temporary, or preventive measures where risk remains.
7. Repeat abuse
Repeated abuse may lead to stronger enforcement, including additional moderation restrictions, feature limits, publication blocks, and account suspension or termination.
8. Fan works, adaptations, translations, derivative works
Derivative or inspired content may require authorization in some cases depending on applicable law.
Responsibility for legal compliance in those cases remains with the publishing user.
Fiction Draft does not provide prior legal review for derivative works.
9. Registration and authorship evidence
Using the platform is not a substitute for formal registration.
Technical and editorial records may assist operationally but do not constitute legal certification or guarantee in disputes.
Users seeking stronger legal protection should use official procedures in their jurisdiction.
10. AI-generated or AI-assisted content
AI tools are optional and only assist writing.
No assurance is provided that AI outputs are original, legally registrable, or fully dissimilar from third-party sources.
Users are responsible for reviewing and validating all AI-assisted content.
Any commercial use occurs at your own risk.
11. Style imitation and creator imitation
Do not use the platform to imitate protected creators or works in a way that creates confusion about provenance, branding, or authorship.
Prompt patterns intended to mimic style/voice without authorization may create significant legal risk.
12. Platform liability limits
To the extent permitted by law, Fiction Draft is a technology and editorial platform and does not provide a blanket warranty for every content’s legal status.
Nothing in this policy removes liabilities that cannot be excluded by law.
13. Cooperation and retention
Fiction Draft may preserve logs, backups, account data and moderation records for investigations, fraud prevention, legal defense, court compliance, and cooperation with authorities.
14. Policy changes
This policy may be updated to reflect legal, operational, technical, or product updates.
Updated versions become effective on the date shown at the top of the document.
15. Final provisions
This policy is informational and contractual within the service context and is not legal advice.
If you plan to register, license, adapt, publish commercially, or litigate copyright disputes, consult qualified legal counsel.
